Chris, there are mostly visual folks using pads tonight.
The biggest issue is that the wifi is not working. Power looks good. Perhaps the service is down.

Not seeing any issues with the Interent at CRO.
Excellent viewing night with a fine group of new and regular members. A warm, light beeze most of the evening until 10:30. Sky was perfect. Randy, Tom Graham, Marvin Abbot, Chris Petroff and myself all co-hosted the Macys, Hunter, Alex and 2 guests. I ran the C14 for everyone. Venus, the moon, M42, M41, a few double stars, the Crab Nebula all showed up very well.
The internet was not on when I arrived at 6:30. Everything looked normal in the closet. But, by the time Chris Petroff arrived, it had come back on. Nothing wrong on our end, so I think it was the service that was down for a couple of hours.
We closed and locked up at 12:15. By then the breeze had become a wind, and the temperature had dropped into the 70s.

Yes, sir … with off-center viewing and squinting my eyes just the right way, my scotopic vision really peaked. I may have strained my eyes a little, but I don’t mind…

The next OKCAC All Member night at CRO is on Saturday, Apr 11th. The current forecast doesn’t look good for tomorrow night.
Sunset is at 8:04pm and the Moon rises at 4:26am. I’m not coming out for this one.
If you’re planning to come out, please post on here that you are going.
Unfortunately I won’t be coming out.
I’m ok with cloudy nights, but rainy skies are not our friends.
Enjoy the much needed rain, if you get some!

I will not be making it either.
The weather forecasts are calling for completely cloudy, with rain turning into thunderstorms. The All Members Night for April 11 is cancelled. Hopefully we’ll have better weather next week!

The next All Members Night at CRO will be this Saturday, April 18.
Sunset is at 2009 hrs. The forecasts are calling for clear skies and mild temps (50s F).
Winds will be extremely high during the day Saturday, 15-30mph, but abate to around 7-13mph at sunset, getting even calmer as the evening goes on.
Many of our regulars will be at Black Mesa State Park this weekend for their celebration as an International Dark Sky Site, but Marv and Bill should have everything open about an hour before sunset.
Please post on here if you plan to go to CRO that night, so they’ll know to expect you.

I haven’t been out since March, so I don’t know if the I-40 construction is still bogging down traffic; but just in case, I’m planning on going out the Northwest Passage. If you’re committed to I-40, I recommend exiting at Calumet and following the truck route into Geary. Be sure to observe the exact speed limit in Geary!

Marv … timing is everything, in regards to the construction zone congestion. The grass looked good and the C-14 area looked good. Closed up the conex box and checked the rest of the area for nope ropes (aka…snakes). The temperature dropped a few degrees, a few distant rumbles could be heard, and then this happened…

My wife and I will be out at Black Mesa for the star party this weekend, I just hope we don’t blow away Friday night. Saturday is looking great, although much colder.

I will be out there with several people from my club. It’s not a school sanctioned event or anything crazy, just a few friends from my club coming with me. 
We are extremely excited!
Update: there will be about 8 of us, unless anyone has anything against that. Mainly sky watching and seeing the scopes out there. I’ll have my seestar developing pictures.
