Lowell Observatory, which is in a dire financial position
(due to a number of factors) is renting out their 4.3 meter
telescope for private astrophotography sessions
at $4000 (yes four thousand dollars) an hour.

I recall at one time you could get a tour of Mt. Wilson’s 100 inch telescope. I think if you brought your own eye piece you could look through it. I’m not sure if this is done any longer.
I’m a member of the Lowell Observatory. They’ve been adding a lot of infrastructure and projects in the last few years. Perhaps they outgrew their funding?
They do ask me for more money a lot these days. But I just figured all non-profits are always asking for more money.
They can have it for that price!!
