About this event
This event is split in two: with a daytime portion from 10am-2pm and an evening portion from 6:30pm-10pm. You are welcome to join us for one or both parts of day. There will be several activities, just like last year, but with extra things including rockets and special planetarium shows in the evening.
During the daytime, we would love club members to join us out in the gardens with solar scopes, sunspotters, etc. In the evening, we will be out in front of the building, near the large red dome. I will have a portion of the parking lot blocked off to give us a little more space.
There are only a few viewing targets that evening, but it looks like we will have Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury close together and low in the sky after sunset, which is just before 9pm. Feel free to do a little solar viewing before then. Members are also welcome to bring screens to display images, which we have had before and are a great educational tool.
We will have a couple of tables and tents out for the club to use as well. This is an excellent opportunity to talk to people about the club and invite them to meetings. We are expecting mostly families in attendance, but that can still vary greatly.

This is a reminder for Sally’s Night, which is tomorrow, June 11th! We are deeply grateful for your help, and your participation is what makes events like these really special. Thank you from everyone in the planetarium and everyone at Science Museum Oklahoma!
Time for the details. The event will run from 6:30 PM to 10 PM, with setup beginning at 5:30 PM. We will be setting up tents with tables and chairs outside in the driveway in front of the east end of the building. In the event of rain, we will forego outdoor tents and move tables inside.
For those that are bringing telescopes; if there is a possibility for rain, we will still have tables inside, with power access, for you to share images, talk about your telescopes and answer questions, and share information about your club and the work you do! If the weather instead is cloudy without rain, we can still setup outside and hope for patches of clear sky in-between. This is by no means required, but feel free to bring a backup demo or even a small activity just in case!
If you are joining us for solar observations during the day at Space Day, the morning event will run from 10 AM to 2 PM, with setup beginning at 9 AM. Morning observations will be taking place in the gardens, rather than out front, with a similar rain contingency.

We are inside and It’s packed with visitors. Had 671 came out for this event. Was leaving after it ended and couldn’t see any Stars, although Venus and Jupiter were cutting through the clouds.
