Seestar S50 pictures

I tried for the first time to take pictures on two different nights and used Deep Sky Stack in the SeeStar App. Here are the two pictures from the two nights. The third picture is the stacked one. I think the second night picture came out better than the first night one. They are both 2 hours straight out of the SeeStar S50. I kinda think the stacked picture is not as good as the other ones. What do you think?

I’ve only got an amateur’s eye, so hard to judge. I like them all, though the second one has a bluish hue that I don’t care for as much as the other two.

One reason I rarely attempt post-processing is that every time I try it, it either looks the same, or worse, than the auto-stacked image the smart scope produces. So it doesn’t seem to be a good use of my time.

I like number three best. To my amateur eyeball it seems to be a less noisy image. Also, the color balance and hue seem a little better, although the other two images could easily be adjusted to match with some light processing.

Mitche … a Curves adjustment can easily knock out the bluish tint. Cropping the photo to 1 x 1 removes a lot of wasted space and pulls target closer to the viewer

Try not to be so hard on yourself, when post-processing your photos. Create a copy of the original so you have something to fall back on when things don’t go your way. Mess up the copies during post-processing, it okay. You still have the original. Star over again and again until the final version looks the way you wanted it to. Repetition & a little patience will get you where you want to be

Not certain I have seen that one before, thank you for sharing!

Had some clear skies last night so had to get some pictures. I started with the Orion Nebula doing it a different way. The that bright Moon stacking a 10 minute video. Then the Horse Head Nebula.

Took this one last night of the Medusa Nebula. The name sounded cool so had to try it.

A post was split to a new topic: Seestar S30 Pro pictures

Ran a side by side with the S30 Pro and the S50 of NGC 2362. Had some thin clouds moved in while imaging.
