I was simply awestruck at this image

WOW! An amazing image. I didn’t even know that there were winter and summer arches of the Milky Way Galaxy, much less that you could actually capture them in one night!

And what an effort to get that unique image! For those of you that haven’t spent all night in the wild at -20-30F, it’s makes for a very cold, and a very long night. It’s tough to stay alive in those conditions, much less work in them.

I’m also surprised her equipment worked at those temps. This adventure also illustrates how important it is to test and practice with your equipment, in the conditions you’ll be using them in, before you try for the big event. If she had not tested her gear at those temps and discovered it didn’t save the images at those temps, she would have spent all that time, money, and risk, and gotten absolutely nothing for her efforts.

That’s dedication. And like her parents, I want that image on the wall of my living room, too.
