OKCAC Member Nights at CRO 2024

You’re more than welcome to look anytime. Sat will actually be my first time other than my light polluted mess of a backyard.

I will not be able to come out due to a previous engagement in Tulsa.

Our 14" obersevatory may be open, as well. Our Edge C14 is awesome.

Those monsters are heavy! Great that you have one and can transport and set up for other members!

I’m planning on going out tonight Sep 7th since the weather looks near perfect. I’m going to Swadley’s in El Reno should get there about 5:45pm.

I will have some CRO keys if anyone hasn’t got their key yet. Please let me know if you need one.

Venus will be up and Saturn will be rising at 7:55pm.

At this time, I am planning on going out for a few hours, assuming the gremlins don’t find me. Weather is looking great.

I’ll be heading out there tonight. Target time for me will be to arrive around sunset at 8pm.

Randy

I’m going to try and come out, after my grandsons football game

I will be coming out tonight.

Hello! I am new to the club (joining today), and I am planning to attend tonight. If I arrive around 8pm will it be clear where to park? I hope to get some Milky Way photos tonight!

I will be there before 8pm and so will others we can show you your options. There is a sandy area on the left as you pull in through the gate that is an area you do not want to park in. It has some wood and concrete dumped there. Please make sure to wear a good pair of shoes there are a lot of prickers.

Still not sure I’ll be able to make it. If it do it will probably be 8 or later.

i will be there tonight

CRO is open!

I’m heading out to Swadley’s in El Reno if anyone wants to join me or meet me for an escort to CRO. Will leave Swadley’s about 6:30pm.

Enjoy your evening all!

I’m not coming out this time around.

Great night of viewing at CRO. I found 6 Messier objects with the 10in Dobsonian and 3 of them with binoculars. All targets were near zenith which is awkward and painful to look straight up but makes for better view due to less atmosphere. I now have 35 Messier objects logged towards the Messier observing award and 27 of them with binoculars, so I’m half way to the Messier Silver level and just over half way to the Messier bino award.

I thought Saturn was also super cool with the rings parallel (?) to us making them look like a straight line along with 3 moons visible.

Sounds like progress, congratulations. I love seeing Saturn like that too.

We had a very nice All Members Night at CRO last night! I got there late, and didn’t get a count, or names, of everyone there, but I believe it was between 15-20 members and guests.

Viewing conditions were excellent! Low winds, no clouds, dark night.

OKCAC Member night at CRO on Saturday, Sep 28th.

Sunset is at 7:21pm and the moon rises at 4:30am.

If you’re planning to come out, please post on here that you are going. We need at least 1 CRO member to open things up.

I will not be going out this Saturday or next Saturday due to being at the Okie-Tex Star Party.

I was planning on coming along with my son if anyone will be there.

I will not be out for this, preset plans!
