Unless someone has mowed I’m sure it needs it, so I’m going to try to get to CRO about 5 and at least mow the top pads.
If someone would bring me a pulled pork sandwich (NO pickle please!) and fried okra from Swadley’s I’ll reimburse them.

This was an excellent member night tonight! We had 13 members and guests, including several CRO members who were making their first trip to the observatory!
We got a few unexpected clouds, but they cleared quickly. The wind was a bit higher than we wanted, but was fine for most folks.
Thanks, Dave, for opening the 14"! And for the food!

The next member night will be July 27th. Sunset will be at 2042 (8:42pm). Night begins at 2222. The moon won’t rise until 0037.
The weather forecasts are looking very good right now! The wind might be a bit gusty, but shouldn’t stop any observing.
Everyone needs to thank Andy Fryhover spending all day last Sundy mowing and trying to reduce the stickers! Thank you Andy!
I should be able to make it this Saturday. I’ll probably stop at Swadley’s in El Reno for dinner on the way out and any/every one is invited! Check back here on Saturday for a more exact time on when I’ll be there. Probably will be around 1830. (6:30pm for everyone who hates 24 hour time).

I’m keeping a close eye on the cloud cover. It seems like it could be a 50-50 chance on the cloud cover thing. At least today the sky actually is blue and not milky white as it has been for the past week.
I’ll come out for this one. If the wind is too high I’ll just use the 14". Should arrive around 8:15.
The forecasts are still looking good! Even the wind forecast has dropped a mph or two. I’ll confirm I’ll be at Swadley’s El Reno about 1830 and will be there at least 30 min, then head on out to CRO. If no one opens it earlier, I should have it open by 2000 at the latest.
I will be coming out tonight, as long as the clouds stay away.

A tad windy, and more clouds than we’d like, but still a great night to be here!
There’s a dozen of us here, including several first timers to CRO.
The next Member Night is tomorrow, 3 Aug.
Sunset is at 2036. True night begins at 2213.
Sadly, the weathr forecasts for Saturday night are not good; partly to mostly cloudy most of the night.
I will not be able to go tomorrow, but I saw in the CRO area of the forum that a couple of CRO members are staying there in trailers all weekend, so CRO should be open if anyone wants to go out there.
