I picked up a S50 last week and this is my first attempt at astrophotography. This think makes it pretty easy I think.,

Very Nice for a “first light” image. You’re gonna love that scope, i can tell.
Thanks. I have a lot to figure out still, but it’s nice to get a win right away.
Great First Light image! This is why I’m a huge fan of “smart telescopes!” They are simple to use (most of them) and it’s a quick and easy way to get images, even in light polluted areas.
Sure, you can get better images with “traditional” astrophotography rigs, and lots of post processing, but there is a steep learning curve for that route. I get decent images with my smart scopes, and that suits me perfectly.
Very nice! I keep debating whether to get this scope or something more traditional like an Askar FMA180pro with a ZWO camera. The simplicity of the S50 is very appealing.
Be sure and come to the January club meeting. Dave Cox is the presenter and is going to be talking about smart scopes.
Don’t forget! There is an S70 in the works!
Might be worth waiting ![]()
Great pic btw. I’m always amazed at how much ZWO can squeeze out of the SeeStar scopes. They really are impressive. Makes you wonder what they’ll come up with next.
I’m interested in the S30 Pro (I think - need to see some reviews). Even wider field than the S30 and 4K from what I’ve read.
The smart telescope market is exploding right now! All the Seestars are producing good images and are easy to use. They have lots of features.
The Dwarf line seems to have improved since I had my Dwarf II. I believe they’ve improved their software and it’s much easier to get good images with them. I’m not up to speed with the Dwarf III or the Dwarf Mini, but from what I have seen, I’d recommend them.
And the price is right for both of those lines! Donno which one I’d choose if I was buying right now.
Welcome to the club! I love my S50
I was suprised the pre-order price for the S30 Pro was the same as the S50, and it will go up $50 on 1 Feb. But looking at the specs, it might well be worth it. It will undoubtably be the most feature laden of the lessor priced smart scopes, for the near future at least.
I doubt if I’ll get one myself (I’ve got a bunch of smart scopes now!), but will be looking forward to seeing it in action!
Well, I pre-ordered one as soon as I could and will be happy to show it off.
I pre-ordered the S30 pro as well, super excited to start imaging with it. I have been so happy with the S50.
