An old favorite of mine is Melotte 15. Yet I have never been satisfied with my image of it, that is until yesterday. Tuesday night was clear, windless, with good seeing and transparency. I turned the scope to the Heart Nebula and shot the core, Mel 15, once again. Taken in narrowband, this is the final, stacked image from the session; able to achieve less than three hours of total integration in Ha, OxyIII, and SII due to TREES. This image exceeded my expectation, finally achieving the photo I sought. The technical specs: C9.25 @ F6.5, Starlight Express H694 camera, Astrodon HA @ 5nm, OxyIII @ 3nm and Sii @ 5nm.

The pictures we get in the night sky never ceases to amaze me. I am in awe of the vastness and the beauty of the universe.
