International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) at Science Museum Oklahoma on 19 Sep 2026. Will start at 7pm until 10pm. The Moon rises at 3:37pm and Sunset is at 7:31pm. Venus sets at 8:45pm and Saturn rises at 8:14pm.
International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is an annual worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation, and understanding of our Moon and its connection to NASA planetary science and exploration. Everyone on Earth is invited to join the celebration by hosting or attending an InOMN event — and uniting on one day each year to look at and learn about the Moon together.
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have over 700 pre-registrations for the event! We are expecting a really strong turn out for this one, so we can definitely use all the telescopes and help that we can muster. I’m super excited!
We passed 1000 pre-registrations a couple of days ago, which was our cap. Folks have been calling every day since then, asking if they can still show up. We are starting to expect up to 800 people at this event!!
I have a spot set aside that will have multiple tables for the club to use. If someone wants to setup a monitor with images we could do that, but I know that sometimes we have magazines or other goodies to give out. There will be plenty of table space, so please bring whatever you’d like to set up.
Since we are expecting so many people, the telescopes will need to be setup in the grass along the parking lot. We are hoping to avoid large crowds and long lines around telescopes, so spreading eastward down that strip of grass will help a lot. Our activity tables will also follow in that direction, also in an effort to spread people out.
Hey Clint, Dave and I are arriving at about 5:20, leaving the house at 5. We plan to park and unload closest to the setup area. We’ll re-park if necessary.
I need to secure 3 tables. I’m setting up a monitor, and I have a canopy.
We can update this post about parking after we arrive.
See you there!
