Perennial favorites this time of year are the Horsehead & Flame nebulas. Bright and well placed for imaging, this pair makes good targets for broadband work, a process I find challenging from my bright skies. Yet, because they are bright, reasonable results can be obtained. The wide-angle view was taken with a Tak FSQ106 and a QHY268C OSC camera. The closeup of the Horsehead was taken with a C9.25 using Starlight Express H694 monochrome camera fitted with RGB filters. Both images are 8 hour stacks and processed in Pixinsight. These were made last month before the weather changed.
