Very nice indeed. I can see it is really a wonderful dark sky location alright.
Sorry, I forgot to say that was a 20 second exposure, F2.8, ISO-3200, 35mm focal length.
Yep, we are clouded out completely. On the bright side, it’s cool temps and overcast, so it’s great hiking and exploring weather.
I know several folks that are hiking up to the high point on Black Mesa today. Tried to describe where to see the dinosaur tracks, but they may be underwater.
To get to the tracks, head to the Black Mesa Nature Preserve and walk about one-third of a mile north from the parking lot. You’ll come across a small private road heading east, which leads to a short walking path along Carrizo Creek where the tracks can be seen.

Starting to see some Stars tonight.
At one point I saw stars across most of the sky. But even then they were few and dim. 20 min later they were all gone. Then a few minutes ago I walked from the mess hall to my trailer and a coudl see a few dim stars directly overhead. So the clouds are thin, but they’re still covering the whole sky. It seems like every weather app is reporting a different forecast, but they all agree that if it does clear a bit at times, it will only be temporary. Last Friday night might well be the only good night this OTSP. Still, that’s one night more than Soakie-Tex in 2018.
And much much warmer than 2018.
Lol
Awesome!
Several folks have told me I look better with the wig. Not sure if that’s a compliment or not.
This is so cool looking!
Looking at the Big Dipper waiting for an ISS pass. Just saw a meteor.
Extremely well done Timelapse. Thanks for posting.
Will watch again and show friends and family.
