CRO is closed and secured for the night. Orion is beautiful, even with a 30% Moon, and lots of dew. ![]()
Hari and I had an exceptional time, thanks to Marv! Viewing Andromeda through the binoculars was an absolute marvel. I didn’t bring home a single sticker either! I imaged with the S50 Pro (NGC 6990) and the S30 pro (Milky Way and NGC 6992). Post processing in Pixinsight.
You’re welcome! Viewing through your binoculars was good for star hopping. You found Andromeda and M13 both by looking a few degrees off the keystone stars in Andromeda and Hercules.
Your images of those nebulae are amazing, too! Glad you and Hari had such a full experience!
Those are fantastic images, Jessica!
Marv, thanks for opening last night and next Saturday!
I’m sure I’ll miss being there next week.
Ooh. Wait. No I won’t. But I may think about you from the OTSP.
Nice captures, Jessica.
Let me reiterate that CRO will be open to ALL REGULAR club members Saturday night!
If you’re not going to Okie-Tex, this night is a great time to come out.
It’s not crowded. Public pads are readily avaliable on the upper level near the building. Even if you don’t own a telescope yet, the C14 can provide amazing views of nearby and deep sky objects.
Just plan to arrive before it gets too dark. Bring red flashlights. Park heading out towards the gate so your headlights don’t shine in other folks eyes.
The grounds are in excellent condition, thanks to our mowing volunteers. The building is very comfortable with amenities.
All that said, please do post if you are coming!
Clear, dark skies are guaranteed (almost).![]()
Myself, guaranteed, and Tamara, likely, will be coming out tomorrow night. She recently just joined up.
Planning to be out there tonight.
Have fun at CRO tonight!
Hope to. Leaving now for 6:30 arrival.
Have fun at OTSP!!
CROis open!
CRO is closed. We had 8 members out working all sorts of gear. The C14 gave some gorgeous views of Saturn and globular clusters. The weather was very good until later when the wind picked up. But the sky was clear, humidity was low. Another excellent night at Cheddar Ranch Observatory.
Thanks, Marv, for opening CRO! Glad you had a great night. We had high winds and a hazy sky at best at OTSP. I still managed a couple of images, posted in the OTSP category.
