First lights with the S50 Pro! No post processing out of the app on the Lagoon and Triffid. Light processing in Pixinsight for the Iris Nebula.

Very nice ![]()
I’m hearing from others, also, that they really like the S50 Pro. Glad it’s meeting, or exceeding, expectations!
Nice capture, Jessica. Let the fun begin.
Here’s my SEESTAR S50 PRO first lights from this morning between 4am and daylight. North America Nebula for 71 minutes and M42 for 8 minutes. The washout on the left half of the M42 image (east) was daylight – the reason for only 8 minutes. No post-processing, only 1-2 minute tweaks with in-app editor.
The sun photos definitely seem better with the S50 Pro! Let the fun begin indeed!!
Last night’s capture of Eagle Nebula. The sky was a bit hazy, but clear. Ended the session at just under an hour due to encroaching tree branches. Skies near Mercy Hospital at Bortle 7-8. The first image is straight out of the S50Pro with no post-processing in-app or external. The second image has minimal edits with the in-app editor including slight reduction of stars. 10-second exposures in Alt-Az.
Really nice shots Jessica. Were you at CRO?
Thanks, Randy! No I was in Dallas and didn’t make it out to CRO sadly.
Attached is an image of M42 taken last Friday morning beginning at 4:16 am from my Bortle 7/8 backyard in NW OKC. It was minimally processed with SeeStar’s in-app editor. The image is an integration of 272 10-second exposures in Alt-Az mode over a 46 minute timeframe. Only 6 rejected frames for a 97.8% acceptance rate – not too shabby. The S50Pro is as solid as any smart telescope I used.
Agreed. not oo shabby ![]()
Very nice Dave. Any post-processing, or is this straight out of the S50Pro?
This was straight out of the SeeStar just used the AI Enhance on it. There is a lot of red at the top of the picture. I looked at the 1 hour shot and no red at the top. It might be from the bright Moon being up. The Moon was blocked by the trees for the first hour. I used 60 second exposures. Not sure if maybe shorter exposures would help when the Moon is out. Will have to try it again at Okie-Tex to compare from a dark sky.
