I’ll get there around sunset. Depends on how long my wife’s scan takes. Looking good!!
Okay. Other plans have collapsed. I’ll try to get out there about the same time as Dave, 1630 or so.
Should be a great night!
CRO is open and sky is very clear.
CRO is closed up. We had 5 club members and 3 of their guests.
We opened up the 15’ dome and it worked very good. Not sure what fixed it. It now opens and closes fine the last 3 times it has been used. Marv and I got the 30” telescope aligned, it worked pretty well. Wasn’t hitting dead on so we synced to a Star nearby the targets we were going after, then it hit dead on even in a high power eyepiece. We looked at Venus it was in half phase. Jupiter was looking great with how clear the sky was. Europa got eclipsed by Jupiter. We totally forgot to look at Saturn.
OKCAC Member night at CRO on Saturday, Dec 28th.
Sunset is at 5:29pm and the Moon rises at 6:53am. Will have some planets to look at Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars.
If you’re planning to come out, please post on here that you are going. We need at least 1 CRO member to open things up. I will not be going out.
Remember to dress for temperatures 20 degrees colder than the temperature in the city.
I am also not going to be able to make it this Saturday.
The forecast doesn’t look too bad right now, though it will not be as nice as last week!
I’m planning to go out to CRO tonight with my two adult children who are home for Christmas. I plan to get there around 6, open up the roll off room and use the 14 in scope for a few hours and leave around 8 or 9.
Thanks for opening CRO tonight, Ben!
I hope the viewing is good!
My dad and I will be headed out tonight.
CRO is open!
Nice clear night but dew is our enemy.
Back home from CRO. We had 3 members and 3 guests. The C14 had dew on the inside and outside.
