OKCAC Member Nights at CRO 2023

It was a very good night. We had a very dim Starlink pass under the Little Dipper. The C14 was running great using the iPad to control it. Ben wanted to verify some Messier objects he looked at with Binoculars. So we started out by looking at M32. Well we learned something new. I always go to M31 and have thought I was also seeing M110. Turns out it was M32. So went to M110 to see what it looks like. Have never visually looked at M110 before found out it is very dim in the eyepiece. So I can now say that I have looked at M31, M32 and M110.

That’s great to hear, glad it was a good night at CRO. Sorry, I couldn’t make it. Will try for next time!

I say that any day (or night) that you learn something is a great day. And when we are willing to correct an erroneous belief? Even better. Congratulations and good for you!

I wonder if the Starlink you saw last Saturday night was this?

Forecast is looking excellent for Saturday night! Clear and calm, if a bit chilly.

I am unable to make it tonight. Stay warm!

I will not be out this evening, have fun!

I will be attending a company christmas party tonight. I hope yall have some good views

The forecasts are still indicating almost perfect conditions tonight, for this time of year, at least. Clear, almost no wind, and the Moon only 19% and low until it sets at 2130.

I’ll have the observatory open by sunset, maybe a bit earlier. Com’on out to the last Member Night of 2023! Dress warmly, and wear shoes that you don’t mind picking stickers off the bottoms before you wear them into your house!

I’m bringing all my EA scopes if you want to see them in action. Including the new Seestar, which is selling like wildfire, and is now available again in most of the online stores!

Running late. Will be there about 6:10.

CRO IS OPEN! Clear and calm.
